We've had months of amazing teamwork and then late last night someone slipped up. I apologize for the "emergency" call for action... and after working thru the night I found that it was bad information. The good news is we still have time to work out one more way to preserve full basic education funding for all ALE programs, including the online programs for our children. Thanks to everyone who sent the governor a message. It may have helped to give her a heads-up to what is coming..

So take a break. Enjoy your Memorial Day weekend and be ready to help every family in the state who has a child in an online program send a unified message to the governor later next week. We'll be asking for a partial veto of the ALE legislation that we've been working on all year. We will propose a way for OSPI to save the money they need to balance the budget, too. By Wednesday know we will know more.

Please be patient and thanks for understanding about the false alarm. I didn't have the luxury of not moving forward to include you in some action IF the governor had planned to sign the bill in the morning. Now we know she won't be signing it for another nine days. Isn't our representative republic a most frustrating, incredible gift from our founding fathers and the men and women who have served and continue to serve our country?!!! Don't give up. We've always known it wouldn't be over until the governor signs the bill. We have another chance to win this next week! With every family's help, we will!
