Action Alert: Still time to write to your senators; mark your calendars for Day at the Capital
We want to give you a brief update on the status of Senate Bill 5410 and inform you of an important date to circle on your calendar.
Your calls and emails to your legislators are having a positive impact in making SB 5410 a bill that we can all support. YET, the current bill language regarding timeline could still create potential delays and problems with obtaining approval for your children's school in the future.
We expect the bill to move to the full Senate for a vote sometime between today and Thursday, March 12th. March 12th is an important day on the legislative calendar for a bill needs to have passed one of the Chambers (either House
or Senate) or it will die for the year. If SB 5410 passes the Senate by March 12th, then it will need to be passed by the House Education Committee and the full House before it is delivered to the Governor for her signature.
Please continue to send emails and make calls to your Senators encouraging them to make sure the time lines are sufficient for the approval process to take place.
Even if you have contacted your Senator before, email or phone them again and let them know you would like to see improvements on the timeline on SB 5410
Please go to the Action Center at Washington Families for Online Learning website to contact your Senator. Click here to visit our a action center and write your letter. Also, notify other on-line families you know, as well as your friends and family members and encourage them to also visit the Action Center on our website.
