Update on online schools - what happened last night?

So what can we do so our kids don't get kicked out of school?

The House Ways & Means Committee delayed voting on amendments until 1:30pm on Friday. This means we have more time ask members to restore the funding for your online public school. But, because we are running out of time we are asking you to do two things below:

What you can do:

•1.    Call your legislators' offices.  Remember: please keep your call positive and polite!

  • Urge their support for a House floor amendment to save our kindergarten - 6th grade ALE  online public schools.

Click here to find out who your legislators are: http://apps.leg.wa.gov/DistrictFinder/default.aspx?city=&street=&zip=

Call the state's toll-free hotline, 1-800-562-6000.  A state employee will take your message and get it to your legislators.

If you receive a call from our coalition about contacting your legislator - please help!

•2.    We need your family's story!

You are the best ambassador for the effectiveness of your child's school choice.  Tell us your story so we can pass these on to legislators.  Please highlight:

  • Why you choose online education?
  • How your child is excelling in online public learning?
  • What could have happened if you didn't have this option?

Please click here to submit your story and upload a picture: http://waonlinefamilies.org/stories/

Thanks in advance for making saving your child's online public school your top priority this week!  Stay tuned in the coming days as we relay more critical information to you about what you can do to save your child's online public school.  You can make a difference.  We can do this!
