Online Public Schools Could Be Shut Down

Dear Fellow Online Families,

The state House budget was released yesterday and it proposes to eliminate online public school programs across the state. This budget aims to save money by kicking children out of their online public school and closing their school - and then hoping they don't go to other public schools! 

This is the gravest threat online education has ever faced in Washington, so our coalition is sponsoring a series of phone calls to make it easier for you to contact members of the House Ways & Means Committee to ask them to reject this proposal and to save our online public schools.  Those members could stop this attack today. If they don't take action today, the battle will move to all members of the WA State House of Representatives.  Today's action will pave the way for legislators to either save or abandon online public schools, like ours.

If you get a phone call please agree to be connected through to your state legislators. Once you talk to the lawmakers, please provide them with these three simple points:

1. Tell the lawmaker that the House budget threatens to shut down your online public school

2. Tell them why your online public school works for your family

3. And ask them to support an amendment to restore funding in the budget for your child's online public school
