The Governor Needs to Hear from You!
Do you support online learning programs? Chances are good that you do. So, please don't leave the future of online learning to chance. The Governor needs to hear that families of online students support SSB 5410 - the online learning bill that is sitting on her desk waiting for her signature. She's heard from others who are encouraging her to "veto" the bill. A veto could put the future of online public school programs, like yours, at risk. It would also waste the good work of the coalition, OSPI and educators from around the state who came to agreement on SSB5410. A quick call from you to 360-902-4111 TODAY could help save the legislation.
The Governor's office has someone ready to take your message. As a parent of a student enrolled in an online public school program that is the right fit for your child, please CALL 360-902-4111 to respectfully request that Governor Gregoire sign SSB 5410- the online legislation. This legislation will preserve quality online programs, provide a framework for even greater accountability of all online programs and expand access to those programs in our state for years to come.
If you've already sent an emal or made a call, please reach out to another family to encourage them to do the same. It could be a good civics lesson for even a young student.
Thank you for all you do to support online learning with your child and in your community. Go to our coalition website, http://www.waonlinefamilies.org/ Action Center for a quick and easy way to send a message to the Governor.
