Washington Families for Online Learning
Over 250 Supporters and Top Elected Officials in Attendance
at Noon Rally in Capitol Rotunda
OLYMPIA -- On Monday, April 6th, Over 250 Online Education supporters will spend the day talking to their legislators about the importance of online education in our state. Currently over 14,000 Washington students receive their education from accredited online sources.
The highlight of Monday's activities will be a short rally held on the steps in the Capitol Rotunda starting at Noon. This 25 minute ceremony will include a welcome from State Attorney General Rob McKenna. Also during the event, seven legislators will receive Pioneer Educator award for their strong support for online education in Washington State. These will include Senator Tracey Eide, Senator Curtis King, Senator Eric Oemig, Senator Rodney Tom, Representative Marcie Maxwell, Representative Skip Priest,and Representative Dave Quall.
Prior to and after the noon time rally, the families will be meeting with their legislators to discuss the importance of online education. Supporters from all regions of the state will be taking part in these activities.
The Capitol Day is being organized by Washington Families for Online Learning, a non-profit grassroots organization to promote the benefits of a strong online education in Washington state. For more information regarding Washington Families for Online Learning please go to www.waonlinefamilies.org.
