*** Please, before you
come, call to set-up 10-15 min appointments with your three legislators (one
senator and two state representatives). Tips are posted at the end of this page and will be handed out when you check in Tuesday.
- Register
between 9:00 -11:00 in the Columbia Room on the lower level of the Legislative
Building (one with the Capitol Dome)
- Learn
about the Legislature and delivering important messages to your legislators. Classes
run about every half hour. Pick up yellow
cards to give to your three lawmakers.
- Choose
one or more activities for your time between your class and noon
- Pick
up a Student Activity page and explore the Capitol Campus
- Videotape
"My online public school is good for me because?"
- 12:00 - We'll all come together sitting on the steps of the CapitolRotunda for our Awards Ceremony and photo at noon
- Lunch
on your own (Cafeteria in Pritchard Building and Dome Deli on lower level of
the Legislative Building are open to the public)
Visit
your Senator and two State Representatives' offices to meet with them in their
offices (or in the hall) as you've arranged in advance (IF
you haven't made those previous arrangements, stop in to introduce yourselves
as living in the lawmaker's district.
Then present him/her the yellow card you picked up in the morning briefing.)
* Come to see the House Education Committee in action. These leading legislators will meet for two hours - between 1:30 and 3:30. Feel free to come and go quietly. The meeting is in the John O'Brien Building in Hearing Room A. It will be a good education for our students and let legislators see the number of students here today from online public schools.
Come
and go to fit your own schedule - just make sure to come to the 20 min class
before visiting your lawmakers & join us in the Rotunda at noon.
Need to know where to park? Like a map of the Capitol Campus? Want to Study about how the Legislature works before you make the trip?
